SUBJECT: Council Assignment of Ex-Officio Member of the
County of Hawaii Youth Commission
Aloha!
Pursuant to section 5-3.4 of the Hawaii County Charter, I hereby assign Council Member Jenn
Kagiwada of Council District 2, as the Ex-Officio member of the County of Hawaii Youth
Commission.
Ms. Kagiwada is a stellar choice to serve in this capacity as she has both the background and
passion for working in an advisory capacity with our youth. Ms. Kagiwada has a Master's degree
in Early Childhood Education, with an emphasis on Public Policy. Some of her work experience
includes: Instructional Coach, PE Teacher, and Substitute Teacher (HIDOE), and Education
Consultant. As her two teens have recently left the nest to attend college, she is inspired to
continue a supportive relationship by mentoring and advocating for the youth in our community.
Please process this assignment of Council Member Kagiwada as the Ex-Officio member to the
inaugural County of Hawaii Youth Commission. I appreciate your attention to this matter and
look forward to the collaboration of the voices of our future.
