Re: Operating Budget
The County of Hawaii has been awarded $49,942 in state funds from the State of
Hawaii, Department of Health as part of the Food Access Plan(s) Resource Coordinator
grant. The purpose of this grant is to support food access plans in Kauai County, Maui
County, Hawaii County and the City and County of Honolulu.
Enclosed is a resolution to enter into an agreement to accept these funds. Also enclosed
is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating $49,942 to the
Department of Research& Development's "Food Access Plan Resource Coordination"
account.

1. A resolution to enter in a Memorandum of Agreement with the Hawai'i Department of Health to receive
$49,942.00 for the purpose of supporting the Food Access Plan(s) Resource Coordination in Kauai
County, Maui county, Hawaii County, and the City and County of Honolulu.
2. A bill for an ordinance to appropriate the $49,942.00.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Hawai'i Department of Health has awarded the County $49,942.00 to support Food Access Plan(s) in
Kauai County, Maui County, Hawaii County, and the City and County of Honolulu. These funds will support
the identification of partnerships, funding, and other resources available to advance identified interventions
and projects.
