SUBJECT: Bill No. 56, Draft 2; a Bill for an Ordinance Amending Chapter 2, Article 47, of
the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as Amended) Relating to the
Appropriation of Disaster Relief Funds for Damages, Losses, and Suffering
Caused by the 2018 Kilauea Eruption.
Please see attached Bill No. 56, Draft 2. Bill No. 56 was amended with the contents of
Communication Nos. 362.1 and 362.3, which included a verbal amendment, to Communication
No. 362.3, as duly approved by the Council during its August 2, 2023, meeting.
The verbal amendment removed a semicolon following the word"Kilauea" in Section 2-250,
subsection (a), paragraph (2), regarding eligibility requirements for nonprofit organizations.
