As a business owner in Pahoa, our business strongly supports Resolution 204-23.
Pahoa USPS is chronically understaffed due to no fault of their own,given USPS rules about how funds are allocated.As
none of the businesses in downtown Pahoa are able to receive mail at their locations,we all have to wait in line for
many packages.As a specialty business, many of our products we can only buy online. Quite frequently we have critically
needed small items that may cost$10 or less but we must have them immediately.This means one of us owners has to
wait in line, often an hour or more, making a$10 purchase more like$50+.This makes it very difficult to successfully run
a business in Pahoa. Anything to increase capacity and reduce waiting times for picking up packages will be extremely
helpful.
