Aloha,
I am writing to give testimony in support of Bill 56.

As a person who lost their home and Eco-Tourist community, we are trying to rebuild but have received no help in this
regard despite applying for the previous round of grants available under the Kilauea Recovery Program.

We hope that this new round of grant monies will also help those who are creating green and community-friendly low-
impact tourism in line with the environmental goals of Hawaii. 3
This is especially true for those of us who live in Lava Zone 1 who have not been helped much except for the buyout
offer,which in my case, was a fraction of the equity and value I had put into my property after 14 years of building a
sustainable business in Hawaii.
