RESOLUTION NO. 238 23
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY
DONATION OF $5,000 TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I ANIMAL
CONTROL AND PROTECTION AGENCY.
WHEREAS, Alexander & Baldwin LLC is donating $5,000 to the Animal
Control and Protection Agency; and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used to purchase capacity-building equipment
and supplies to provide services island wide; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate,
and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code states that
any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the
capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by
Resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Animal Control and Protection Agency recommends the
acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the
County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Alexander & Baldwin, 822 Bishop Street, Honolulu, HI 96813.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of
this resolution to the Animal Control and Protection Agency, the Department of
Finance, and the Office of Management.
