RESOLUTION CREATING ONE NEW (1) BATTALION CHIEF AND THREE (3) NEW FIRE HELICOPTER PILOT POSITIONS FOR THE HAWAI‘I COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Fire Department is in need of one (1) new Battalion Chief position and three (3) new Fire Helicopter Pilot positions to properly support the Fire Department’s Emergency
Operations Division; and
WHEREAS, these positions are necessary to transition away from contracting services and to better control the resources and staffing of this section; and
WHEREAS, the positions indicated above are Battalion Chief, EM-03 and Fire Helicopter Pilot, SR-26 positions; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawai‘i County Charter states that the Mayor has the power to “Create positions...for which appropriations have been made by the council...”;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that one (1) new Battalion Chief position and three (3) new Fire Helicopter Pilot positions be created in the Hawai‘i County Fire
Department.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawai‘i shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of Management, the Fire Department, the Department of Human
Resources and the Department of Finance.
