I am writing in SUPPORT of Resolution No. 216-23. As we know, Early Learning/Early Childhogg
Education PROVIDES:

Early Learning/Early Childhood Education is critical because: cp
• More than 85% of brain development occurs from birth to age 5, preschool provides
children with opportunities to develop social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills.
• Children are prepared and ready for kindergarten, which has long-lasting impact on their
future education and development.
Never before have early learning providers and resource agencies come together in West Hawaii
under one roof.
Your generous support of our Early Learning 'Ghana Festival will allow early learning professionals
the opportunity to
• Showcase their program(s)
• Recruit keiki to increase enrollment
• Recruit staff for workforce development
• Networking
Community education and awareness of early learning resources that are available to families.
I humbly ask that you and the council support Resolution No. 216-23.
