Greetings to Chair Kimball and to all of the Members of Hawaii County Council
I am writing in SUPPORT of Resolution No. 216-23. As we know, Early Learning/Early Childhood
Education PROVIDES:
• Young children with a strong foundation for their future learning and development.
• Immediate and long-term benefits for keiki
• Immediate and long-term benefits for our communities as a whole
• More than 85%of brain development occurs from birth to age 5, preschool provides
children with opportunities to develop social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills.
• Prepare children to be school ready for kindergarten,which has long-lasting impact on
their future education and development.
Never before have early learning providers and resource agencies come together in West
