Aloha-
As a ten-year resident of Leilani Estates, I want to support all efforts to create affordable insurance for Lava Zones 1 & 2
for both residential and commercial entities.The economic livelihood of lower Puna is tied to the ability to obtain
affordable insurance, otherwise people will move elsewhere. If we didn't have commercial insurance,we wouldn't be
able to operate our AirBnB.There are no hotels in lower Puna, and vacation rentals are the only way to provide housing
for tourists in our region. Currently,the state insurance agency will not insure for properties that are use for commercial
purposes in lava zone 1&2.
