Home My WebLink AboutRES 242 Draft 01 2022-2024 OF • COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 242 23 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF PICKLEBALL SUPPLIES TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION. WHEREAS, David Molenaar, a Laupahoehoe community member, is donating pickleball supplies to the County of Hawai`i Department of Parks and Recreation; and WHEREAS, these supplies, consisting of two (2) pickleball nets with wheels, and two (2) custom-made net covers, valued at $1,925.69, will be used by the community at the Papa`aloa Park; and WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawai`i County Charter, provides that the council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawai`i County Charter,the County of Hawai`i, accepts this donation. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to David Molenaar, P.O. Box 261, Laupahoehoe, HI 96764, acknowledging this generous donation. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Department of Parks and Recreation,the Department of Finance, and the Office of the Mayor.
