COUNTY OF HAWAI`I = °-''� + STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> BILL NO. 66 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5, ARTICLE 4, SECTION 5-4-3, OF THE <br /> HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2016 EDITION,AS AMENDED), RELATING TO <br /> INSTALLATION OF PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br /> SECTION 1. Chapter 5, article 4, section 5-4-3, of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 <br /> (2016 Edition, as amended), is amended by amending subsection (I)to read as follows: <br /> "(f) Installation of photovoltaic systems shall require: <br /> (1) Electrical design drawings and specifications that have been prepared, designed, and <br /> stamped by a person who is licensed in the State of Hawai`i as a professional electrical <br /> engineer for residential installations greater than 30 kilowatts and non-residential <br /> installations; and <br /> (2) Plans and specifications for building work that have been prepared, designed, and <br /> stamped by a person who is licensed in the State of Hawai`i as an architect or a <br /> professional structural engineer for: <br /> (A) Non-residential installations; or <br /> (B) Residential installations that do not utilize a preapproved system or that are not <br /> consistent with approved standards including but not limited to, those relating to <br /> span tables, older homes or site-built trusses." <br /> SECTION 2. New material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the underscoring <br /> need not be included. <br /> SECTION 3. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof <br /> to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, the invalidity does not affect other provisions or <br /> applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid.provision or <br /> application, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are severable. <br />
