,.,OJ�TYfOF~,w• <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAI I •I STATE OF HAWAI I <br /> tE • <br /> oF'N... <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 258 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE PILIKULAIWI FALL INTERSESSION <br /> PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Recreation Division,provides <br /> diversified recreational programs and activities for all age groups that address the needs and <br /> interests of the respective communities in a safe environment at County recreational facilities; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Recreation Division conducts various programs throughout the year, <br /> including its Fall Intersession Program called"Pilikulaiwi", which means building a relationship <br /> with my homeland; and <br /> WHEREAS, Pilikulaiwi is a three-day, two-night session to be held in October in <br /> Pa`auilo for students in sixth to twelfth grade; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hui Malama I Ke Ali`i `Ulili is a community-based nonprofit organization <br /> whose mission is to re-establish the systems that sustain our community through place-based <br /> educational initiatives and `aina-centered practices that cultivate abundance, regenerate <br /> responsibilities, and promote collective heath and well-being; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hui Malama I Ke Ali`i `Ulili will contribute to Pilikulaiwi by providing <br /> `aina based education and service-learning experiences involving malama `aina, and sustainable <br /> food practices; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funds for intersession <br /> shirts, food, and drinks, and other related costs to conduct its Pilikulaiwi Fall Intersession <br /> program; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation for its Pilikulaiwi Fall Intersession program at Pa`auilo. <br />
