Re: Operating Budget
In the current Budget Ordinance 23-50, $200,000 is appropriated in the National Criminal
History Imp. Program account. Additional federal funds in the.amount of$580,000 are
being provided by the State of Hawai`i Department of the Attorney General to be used to
improve the quality,timeliness, and immediate accessibility of criminal history records
and related information.
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these
additional funds into the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney's National Criminal History
Imp. Program account, bringing the total appropriation to $780,000.

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The purpose of the NCHIP grant is to improve the quality, timeliness, and immediate accessibility of criminal
history records and related information. This grant will be utilized by the Prosecutor's to make
enhancements/upgrades to the Department's information systems to include, the new case management
system, internet bandwidth, licensing and replacement of old computers.
