Subject: Testimony in support of Resolution 223-23
I am writing in support of Resolution 223-23. The lack of affordable
home insurance in Lava zone 1 and 2 puts a financial burden on those of
us who are still recovering from the 2018 Lava flow. While FEMA money
flowed to those that decided to take the buyout program, no money
flowed to those that are committed to staying in the area. The lack of
affordable insurance forces those that remain to choose between making
expensive insurance premium payments or going without insurance,
which could risk our financial future.
Please take whatever steps are necessary to provide affordable ins-uran,ce
for those still recovering from the lava flow. Mahalo for your
