A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HE HO‘OMAKA HOU
ANA O‘ PUNA TO SUPPORT THE HAWAI‘I COMMUNITY COLLEGE’S ‘AUAMO KULEANA DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SUMMIT.
WHEREAS, He Ho‘omaka Hou Ana O‘ Puna (HHHAOP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that strives to improve the economic, physical, and mental well-being of all women in Puna; and
WHEREAS, HHHAOP is working in partnership with the Hawai‘i Community College’s Administration of Justice Club and Human Services Program to coordinate the ‘Auamo Kuleana Domestic Violence
Summit to provide awareness, education, and resources to the community about the dynamics of domestic violence; and
WHEREAS, the ‘Auamo Kuleana Domestic Violence Summit will be held on October 13, 2023, at the Hawai‘i Community College; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaiʻi Community College’s Culinary Arts program will provide food and beverages, and the Administration of Justice Club and the Human Services Program will provide items
for the participation bags for attendees; and
WHEREAS, HHHAOP is requesting funds to cover expenses for food, beverages, supplies, and materials for the ‘Auamo Kuleana Domestic Violence Summit; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports this event as it is in keeping with the goals and objectives of the department to support safe and healthy community activities;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying
the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide
a grant to He Ho‘omaka Hou Ana O‘ Puna to support the Hawai‘i Community College’s ‘Auamo Kuleana Domestic Violence Summit.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
