COUNTY OF HAWAI`I - �'-°--,i I.iiSTATE OF HAWAI`I .. .t__.78.**1 ' RESOLUTION NO. 275 23 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO REIMBURSE THE POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO THE 67TH ANNUAL HAWAII STATE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE. WHEREAS the annual Hawai`i State Law Enforcement Officials Association (HSLEOA) Conference is recognized as Hawai`i's premier law enforcement symposium that has led the way in uniting law enforcement agencies to successfully meet the many challenges that they face; and WHEREAS, the 67th Annual HSLEOA Conference was hosted by the Hawai`i County Police Department at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort& Spa on September 27-29, 2023, and the theme was "Challenges Facing Modern Policing"; and WHEREAS, one of the main focuses of this year's conference was the recognition of the HSLEOA Officers of the Year that honored county, state, federal, and military law enforcement officers for their exceptional service, which also included officers from the previous three years who were not formally recognized due to the cancellation of HSLEOA Conferences amid the COVID pandemic; and WHEREAS,the Police Department is requesting funds for a reimbursement of expenses for brochures and conference materials for the 67th Annual HSLEOA Conference; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Police Department for a reimbursement of expenses relating to the 67th Annual HSLEOA Conference that was held on September 27-29, 2023. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
