RESOLUTION NO. 279 23
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
DONATION OF LABOR AND MATERIALS FOR A HOMERUN FENCE
TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION.
WHEREAS, West Side Hawai`i Little League is donating labor and materials for a
homerun fence to the County of Hawai`i Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS,this labor and materials, valued at approximately $14,700, is to install a
homerun fence at William Charles Lunalilo Playground in Kailua Kona; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter,provides that the
council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this
donation; now,therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I, , in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawai`i County Charter,the County of
Hawaii, accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to West Side Hawaii Little League, PO Box 955, Kailua Kona, Hawai`i
96740.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Department of Finance, and the
Office of Management.
