RESOLUTION NO. 282 23
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A
LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR
FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE FOR ONE (1) LANDFILL
COMPACTOR FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL
MANAGEMENT
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract,
lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a
later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a multi-year lease for
five (5) years, for one (1) landfill compactor; and
WHEREAS, this equipment will be utilized by the Department of
Environmental Management's Solid Waste Division and is essential in managing
the estimated 600 tons of daily generated waste; and
WHEREAS, the current landfill compactor was involved in an "equipment fire"
and is not operable; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year
lease for the equipment as indicated above, for the Department of
Environmental Management.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the
anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the
agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of
Hawaii shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of Management,
the Department of Environmental Management, and the Department of
Finance.
