Re: Operating Budget
In the current Budget Ordinance 23-50, $73,000 is appropriated in the Police
Department's HCPD Data Grant account. Additional federally derived funds in the
amount of$16,980 are being provided by the State of Hawai`i Department of
Transportation and the National Priority Safety Program to establish a statewide traffic
data system and ensure compliance with national standards.
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these
additional funds into the Hawai`i County Police's HCPD Data Grant account, bringing the
total appropriation to $89,980.

A. REQUEST:
This is a request to appropriate an additional $16,980.00 for the HCPD Data Grant under account number
010.201.5216.18 and revenue account 3303.63. This grant is funded from the State of Hawaii, Department
of Transportation and the National Priority Safety Program.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation provides funding which will be used to establish a
statewide traffic data system and ensure compliance with National standards.
