Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs, to which was referred
Communication No. 440, reports as follows:
Communication No. 440, transmitted by Mayor Mitchell D. Roth, dated August 30, 2023,
requests the Council's review and confirmation of the nomination of Eileen Lacerte to the Police
Commission.
Executive Assistant to the Mayor Pomaika`i Bartolome was present in the Kona Chambers to
introduce Ms. Lacerte, who was also present in the Kona Chambers.
Pursuant to Article 7, Chapter 2, Section 7-2.2 of the Hawaii County Charter, members of the
Police Commission shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Council.
Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Communication No. 440, and recommends confirmation of the appointment of
Eileen Lacerte to the Police Commission.
