RE: Request for presentation regarding the Solid Waste System Operational Analysis.
I am requesting 45 minutes on October 17, 2023, to allow the consultant Element Environmental
LLC to make a presentation to the appropriate Committee and the public regarding the County of
Hawaii Solid Waste System Operational Analysis, and for discussion.
This presentation will provide an overview of the scope of the study addressing island -wide
management of solid waste. The presentation will include the purpose of the study, scope of the
study, and potential initiatives that may be evaluated as part of the analysis. The Department of
Environmental Management intends to gather input from the Council that will be incorporated
into the study for consideration.
Please refer this matter to the appropriate Committee.
