A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WITH PURCHASING
A CERTIFIED AGRICULTURAL SCALE FOR ITS HILO STATION.
WHEREAS, agricultural theft continues to be a major concern for Hawai‘i Island’s agricultural industry and its livelihood; and
WHEREAS, placing certified agricultural scales at select police stations will assist the Police Department and the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney with obtaining additional evidence
to support the prosecution of agricultural theft; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department is requesting funds to purchase a certified agricultural scale for its Hilo station; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Police Department to purchase a certified agricultural
scale for its Hilo station.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Chief of Police and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized
to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
