RESOLUTION NO. 14 2,3
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
DONATION OF LABOR AND MATERIALS FOR A PLAYGROUND TO
THE COUNTY OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION.
WHEREAS, Kona Playgrounds Foundation and an anonymous party are donating
labor and materials for a playground to the County of Hawaii Department of Parks and
Recreation; and
WHEREAS, this donation, valued at approximately $45,000, consists of playground
equipment, which includes freestanding playground sensory panels and two (2) sets of
aluminum bleachers with installation at the William Charles Lunalilo Playground in Kailua
Kona; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the
council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this
donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII,, in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of
Hawaii, accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Department of Parks and Recreation,the Department of Finance, and the
Office of Management.
