COMMITTEE ON FINANCE
Re: Comm. No. 483/Bill No. 74
Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 74, reports as follows:
Bill No. 74, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako via Communication No. 483 dated
September 15, 2023, amends Ordinance No. 23-50, as amended, the Operating Budget for the County
of Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024.
This bill increases revenues in the Federal Grants — Hawai`i County Police Department Data Grant
account ($16,980); and appropriates the same to the Hawaii County Police Department Data Grant
account, for a total appropriation of $89,980. These additional funds would be used to establish a
statewide traffic data system and ensure compliance with national standards.
Traffic Safety Coordinator Torey Keltner provided a brief overview on this measure.
There was no father discussion on the matter.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 74, and recommends
its passage on first reading.
