COMMITTEE ON FINANCE
Re: Comm. No. 485/Bill No. 76
Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 76, reports as follows:
Bill No. 76, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako via Communication No. 485 dated
September 15, 2023, amends Ordinance No. 23-50, as amended, the Operating Budget for the County
of Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024.
This bill increases revenues in the Federal Grants — Hawai`i County Police Department Roadblock
Program account ($97,970.95); and appropriates the same to the Hawaii County Police Department
Roadblock Program account, for a total appropriation of $522,970.95. These additional funds would be
used to fund programs focused on reducing the number of drivers operating a vehicle while impaired.
Traffic Safety Coordinator Torey Keltner provided a brief overview on this measure.
There was no futher discussion on the matter.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 76, and recommends
its passage on first reading.
