COMMITTEE ON FINANCE
Re: Comm. No. 490/Bill No. 81
Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 81, reports as follows:
Bill No. 81, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako via Communication No. 490 dated
September 15, 2023, amends Ordinance No. 23-51, as amended, relating to public improvements and
financing thereof for the fiscal year July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024.
This bill adds the Fire Department Waiuli (Leleiwi) Beach Park Lifeguard Tower Construction — Fair
Share project ($48,000) to the Capital Budget. Funds for this project shall be provided from Fair Share
Contributions to replace the existing tower with a new fiberglass surveyor tower.
Fire Chief Kazuo Todd provided more background on this measure.
There was no further discussion on the matter.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 81, and recommends
its passage on first reading.
