Wai'aha Bay Beach Park Land Acquisition
Dear Curtis,
Thank you for your introducing the Wai'aha Bay Beach Park Land Acquisition (Bill 198).
I believe the successful acquisition of Wai'aha will be an important step in the proper
development of the Kailua to Keauhou area. As evidenced by the 3000+ previously submitted
signatures, our community strongly supports a park here.
A main concern at the Feb.15 Finance Committee meeting was if Wai'aha beach became a
public park where would the Parking be located. Dan Bolton, the owner of the 18 acre parcel
across the street reiterated his commitment to provide dedicated public beach parking
when he develops the property in the near future.
I am proud to have you as Councilman for Kona representing a future we can look forward to
and thanks for all the hard work towards making Hawaii Island a better place for everyone.
Mahalo nui loa for representing the will of the people by your attempt here to preserve the aina
for future generations.
