In response to questions raised at the October 3, 2023 Finance Committee meeting, the
Department of Finance would like to provide additional information regarding Resolution
283-23. The request for a multi-year lease agreement for the Police Department's tasers
and associated equipment is for approximately 484 units at an estimated cost of $430,740
per year.
The Police Department has also indicated that during calendar year 2023, there were 62
use -of -force incidents reported, of which the CEW/Taser was utilized to effectively arrest
suspects 17 times.
