We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division S. Parking, Section 24-
280, Schedule 28, No parking at anytime, Paragraph (a) Hamakua, to add the following:

EAST OF THE NORTHWEST JUNCTION TO HIGHWAY 19 AND EXTENDING
ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND NINE FEET IN THE EASTE RI Y
DIRECTION ON BOTH SIDES OF THE ROAI)WAY
This amendment is being proposed to mitigate blind turns by removing sight obstructions along
the roadway specifically at and nearby a lava tube. Parked vehicles in narrow grassed shoulders
and pedestrian activity within the travel lanes are creating a traffic safety hazard within the
narrow winding road.
