Re: Fund Balance Notification for June 30, 2023

Pursuant to Hawaii County Code Section 2-12.4(e), I am providing notification that a report on
the fund balance for fiscal year ending June 30, 2023, will not be submitted to the County
Council by the October 15th deadline.
We hope to submit the report prior to November 30, 2023. Both our department and the
departments we rely on for financial data have experienced some unexpected staff shortages that
have delayed closing the books beyond our anticipated schedule.
