Re f cstimonm in Support of Resolution to purchase (TMK 328008100) or the entire shoreline
of the 'ili of Pepe ekeo by the County through the PONC process.
I. Mel lakai supports the resolution for purchase of (TMK 3280(181001 for preservation and
stc%%-ardship of the shoreline arca of the entire 'th of Pepc'ckeo.
1 here have been four generations of the I akai family fishing at this shoreline feeding our
families and building strong salues and principles. It is imperative that the prescnation of this
shoreline becomes a permanent Factor to ensure that the next four generations and more will he
able to not only fish on the shoreline but learn important life skdk and strong ctiquettes
I ha%c fished on this shoreline for the past ift% %ears catching a variety offish from Menpaehi.

caicnl. Fhe lifelong memories I have along Pepe'ckco's shoreline from high hanks to Iron Pegs
will always spark a smile on my face. It was there where I learned how to fish with my dad using
a hamhoo pole It was there by the light house that I brought my daughter for her first fishing
experience which today still brings wonderful memories for us both when we tell stones Am
fishing. It is there now that I take my grandson to go fishing Our connection to this shoreline is
imbedded into our family
[he perpetuity of this shoreline for future generations is crucial As more development scalps up
our aina for prisate use. the less the community of Pepe'ekeo will have to protect its precious
rcviurccs and waN of life
Purchasing this 'aina under the ( oun1% of I lawai'i PONC process would fulfill long-standing
promises a) the Pcpc'ckeo commumts (it protecting this shoreline into the future.
