Bill 82
We wish to express our strong support for Bill 82 allowing public monies to be used to maintain private roads open to
public use. The Hawaiian Acres subdivision has experienced catastrophic damages to private roads due to extreme
weather events in the past several years. The subdivision has no mechanism to collect money for repairs beyond
voluntary contributions, and has no equipment for road maintenance. Roads have disintegrated to the point fire, police
and ambulance services are greatly inhibited, resulting in serious health and public safety issues. The community
requires county support in maintaining roads sufficient to provide for adequate health and safety services access.
