In the current Budget Ordinance 23-50, $580,000 is appropriated in the Kua Bay Grant
account and $1,019,103 is appropriated in the Hapuna Beach Grant account. Additional
state funds in the amount of $443,414 are being provided by the State of Hawaii
Department of Land and Natural Resources to be used for costs associated with Kua Bay
and Hapuna Beach ocean safety.
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these
additional funds into the Fire Department's Kua Bay - State Grant account, bringing the
total appropriation to $778,220 and into the Hapuna Beach - State Grant account,
bringing the total appropriation to $1,264,297.
