of the 'ili of-Pepe'ek-co by the County through the POMC process.

There have been four generations of the Takni family fishing at this shoreline feeding our
families and building strong values and principles. It is imperative that the preservation of this

shoreline becomes a.permanent factor to ensure that the next four generations and more,.vill be
ahle to not only Fish on the shoreline but learn important life skills and strong ctiquettes.
I have fished on this shoreline for the past fifty years catching a variety offish from j%rlcnpachi.

will always spark a smile on my fisc. It %%,as there where I learned how to fish with my dad using
a bamboo pole It was there by the light house that I brought my daughter for her first fishing
experience which today still brings wonderful memories for us both .when we tell stories about
fishing. It Is there now that I take my grandson to go fishing. Our connection to this shoreline is
imbedded into our family,
The perpetuity of this shoreline for future generations Is crucial. As more development scoops up
our '5ma for private use, the less the community of'PcpcUeo will have to protect its precious
resiources and way ot'life.
Purchasing this *dma under the County of Hawaj'i POMC process would fulfill long-standing
promises to the llcpc'ckeo community of'protecting this shoreline into the future.
