Subject: Council Hearing October 18: CRF $6.9K to Full Life for AHA's community art evets for individuals with disabilities
Aloha Hawai'i County Council and members of the community:
ask our support in the passing of Resolution 312-23 which, will allow Full Life and Abled Hawai'i Artists to collaborate
with other grassroots organizations to co -organize three meaningful community events that incorporates inclusion of all
ages, abilities and income resources:
• 11 Annual Mask and Costume Making & Puppets4Peace Walk- Allow keiki from low-income households
to be supported by artists in making masks and costumes for Halloween- free! Art and craft supplies, snacks and
beverages will be provided, along with an ASL interpreter to support the inclusion of our deaf and hearing
impaired members of our community.
0 17' Annual Paradise Studio Tours- Allow Artists with disabilities opportunities to share and sell their artwork
along side master artists. Full Life and Abled Hawai'i Artists will support Paradise Studio Tours, to make this
annual event to be more accessible to wheelchair users, and an ASL interpreter will be provided for our deaf and
hearing impaired members of our community.
Abled Hawai'i Artists 2nd Annual Collaborative- Allow master artists, Abled Hawai'i Artists and
other community artists of unique abilities and artistic mediums to learn from each other through the creative
process, creating unique artwork, featured in a public art exhibit. This annual event will be accessible to

wheelchair users and an ASL interpreter will be provided for the deaf and hearing impaired, thereby creating
organically inclusive mentorships and comradery, strengthening the network of artists on East Hawai'i Island.
