Aloha Council,
I strongly urge support of Bill 82. It is high time that Hawaii County take responsibility for some of the cost of road
maintenance in rural Hawaii County where roads used by the general public are being paid for by the lowest income
residents. That is patently unfair. Other municipalities around the world take road maintenance to be a solemn
responsibility. Hawaii County is well known for its bureaucratic ways that are costly and ineffectual. Streamlining
those would provide needed funding for one of the primary responsibilities of government.
