Re: Comm. No. 523/Bill No. 89
Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 89, reports as follows:
Bill No. 89, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako via Communication No. 523 dated
September 29, 2023, amends Ordinance No. 23-50, as amended, the Operating Budget for the County
of Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024.
This bill appropriates revenues in the Federal Grants — Safe Routes to School account ($249,320); and
appropriates the same to the Safe Routes to School account to assist the Department of Public Works in
developing Safe Routes to School initiatives to promote walking and biking as safe and viable sources
of transportation near schools.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 89, and recommends
its passage on first reading.
