SUBJECT: Proposed Amendment to Bill No. 95; an Ordinance Amending Chapter 24,
Article 10, Division 5, Section 24-280, Schedule 28 of the Hawaii County Code
1983 (2016 Edition), Relating to No Parking at Anytime Upon Certain Streets or
Portions of Streets.
The following is offered as a proposed amendment to Bill No. 95. The proposed amendment is
illustrated below in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Bill No. 95. Material to be
deleted is bracketed and stricken.
SECTION 1 of Bill No. 95 is amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 1. The purpose of this ordinance is to: (1) prohibit parking
alongside a certain section of Old Mamalahoa Highway at a blind turn that fronts the
De Luz Quarry and is adjacent to an exposed lava tube[, as illustr-aledi the a++.,ehe
Exhibit ";] and (2) to facilitate traffic flow within the narrow winding road without
sight obstructions."
Due to the limited scope of this amendment, a draft of Bill No. 95, Draft 2, that would result if
this amendment were adopted, is not attached.
