Re: Resolution Creating a Position
Enclosed is a resolution creating one new Clerk III, SR -70 position for the Department of
Research and Development. 'I his position is necessary to provide clerical support to the
Administrative Services Assistant and numerous Specialists as the department continues
to grow.

A. REQUEST:
A resolution for ordinance to create one (1) new position in the Department of Research and Development.
This position will be an Clerk III, assigned to our S. Hilo office.

Clerk III (SR10 BU03)
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED)'
The Department of Research and Development staff has grown signficantly and the Clerk III would provide
the necessary support to the Admin Services Assistant to provide quality customer service, timely and
accurate administrative support to the specialists, and an efficient and easy to access fling and scheduling
system. The Clerk III will also assist with answering telephone calls, servicing the public and managing the
department's fling system.
