SUBJECT: Proposed Amendment to Bill No. 84; an Ordinance Amending Chapter 5,
Article 4, Section 5-4-7 and Chapter 5, Article 5, Sections 5-5-4 and 5-5-5
of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as Amended), Relating
to Cancellation of Construction Code Permit Applications, Permit
Expirations, and Permit Extensions.
The following is offered as a proposed amendment to Bill No. 84. The proposed amendment is
illustrated below in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Bill No. 84. Material to be
repealed is bracketed and stricken, and material to be added is underscored.
SECTION 2 of Bill No. 84 is amended by amending Section 5-4-7, subsection (a), to read as
follows:
"(a) An applicant shall have one hundred eighty days from the date [of submissian]
the application is accepted at intake to obtain a permit."
Due to the limited scope of this amendment, a draft of this bill that would result if this amendment
were adopted, is not attached.
