RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION CREATING ONE (1) NEW ASSISTANT CONTROLLER POSITION FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE
WHEREAS, the Department of Finance is in need of an Assistant Controller position to provide support in their Accounts Division; and
WHEREAS, this position is necessary to execute additional work and responsibilities that the department has been tasked with; and
WHEREAS, the Assistant Controller will assist with the implementation of new Governmental Accounting Standards Board statements, additional ERS requirements, and the implementation of
the County of Hawai‘i's new ERP system, among other duties; and
WHEREAS, the position indicated above is one (1) Assistant Controller, EM-05; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawai‘i County Charter states that the Mayor has the power to “Create positions...for which appropriations have been made by the council...”;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that one (1) Assistant Controller, EM-05, position be created in the Department of Finance.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the Office of Management, Department of Finance, and Department of Human Resources.
