4OJ0 <br /> 1 <br /> 1 <br /> OF ..... <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII -••�• .' / STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> qT • <br /> F O•F•H.. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 349 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE BIG ISLAND <br /> RESOURCE CONSERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL TO ASSIST WITH <br /> EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH THE 2023 HAWAI`I ISLAND VETERANS DAY <br /> PARADE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Big Island Resource Conservation and Development Council <br /> (BIRCDC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to assist the people of the Big <br /> Island in achieving sustainable development while caring for, and appreciating their natural <br /> environment; to ensure broadened economic opportunities, enriched communities, and better <br /> lives; and <br /> WHEREAS, BIRCDC is partnered with the Hawai`i Island Veterans Day Parade <br /> Committee to honor all veterans in Hawai`i County by assisting with the planning and <br /> implementation of the annual Hawai`i Island Veterans Day Parade, which is scheduled for <br /> November 4, 2023 ; and <br /> WHEREAS, BIRCDC is requesting funds to assist with expenses for permit fees, tents, <br /> advertising, and materials; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports safe and healthy <br /> community activities such as the Hawai`i Island Veterans Day Parade; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to the Big Island Resource Conservation and <br /> Development Council to assist with expenses related to the Hawaii Island Veterans Day Parade. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
