IV <br /> (-- <br /> .M`�ro` u�, <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII <•i `.5 •1 STATE OF HAWAII <br /> •f,Tf F N... <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 353 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE FOOD BASKET <br /> INC. FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF TEN SECURITY CAMERAS <br /> AT VARIOUS PROPERTIES TO ASSIST ITS AGRICULTURAL SUPPLIERS IN <br /> COUNCIL DISTRICT 1. <br /> WHEREAS, The Food Basket Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose goal is to <br /> collaborate with organizations and fulfill its partnering mission to eradicate the root of hunger; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, agricultural theft continues to be a major concern for Hawai`i Island's <br /> agricultural industry and its livelihood; and <br /> WHEREAS, The Food Basket Inc. is greatly affected by agricultural theft, which can <br /> halt or significantly reduce the fresh food supply that is distributed to the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, The Food Basket Inc. is requesting funds to purchase and install ten <br /> security cameras at various properties to assist its agricultural suppliers in Council District 1; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Research and Development supports programs that <br /> develop methodologies and education to reduce and prevent agricultural theft; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, <br /> service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to The Food Basket Inc. for the purchase and <br /> installation of ten security cameras at various properties to assist its agricultural suppliers in <br /> Council District 1. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
