RESOLUTION NO. 354 23
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION WITH ITS HONOKA`A VALENTINE'S TEEN DANCE.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Recreation Division, plans,
conducts, arranges, and promotes organized recreation, athletics, crafts, community events, and
other leisure -time activities for all age groups at recreation centers and facilities throughout the
County of I-Iawai`i; and
WHEREAS, the Recreation Division is planning a Valentine's teen dance for the
community at the Honoka`a Sports Complex on February 9, 2024, which will include music,
refreshments, and fun activities presented in a safe environment; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funds to cover
expenses for disc jockey fees, a PA (public address) sound system, refreshments, and other
supplies to support its Honcka`a Valentine's Teen Dance; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation for its Honoka'a Valentine's I cen Dance.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
