Aloha,
I strongly support resolution 330-23. Cape Kumukahi has been neglected for decades and the burial sites desecrated
This area needs to be recognized and protected for the historical significance it has.
Prior to the 2018 Kilauea lava flow, there was uncontrolled access and the amount of trash that was left after weekends
of camping and partying was disgraceful. Discarded diapers, fire pits with all kinds of stuff burned that shouldn't be
burned, and just general trash was disgusting.
Access to the new beach can be allowed but only with a strong management plan to protect the cultural sites. Please
move this forward.
