Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 96, reports as follows:
Bill No. 96, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako via Communication No. 560 dated
October 13, 2023, amends Ordinance No. 23-50, as amended, the Operating Budget for the County of
Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024.
This bill decreases appropriations in the Housing Production account (-$17,324,559.46); and
appropriates the same to the following accounts: Kamakoa Nui LP -Construction ($2 million), Mental
Health Kokua-Property Acquisition ($5.5 million), Hale O Hawaii County -Volcano Construction
($300,000), Hale O Hawaii County -Hilo Construction ($300,000), Ho`omalu at Waikoloa LP -
Construction ($3 million), OHCD-Infrastructure Development Kamakoa Nui ($5.4 million), and
Hawaii Island Community Development Corporation -Construction Mohouli ($824,559.46).
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 96, and recommends
its passage on first reading.
