Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs, to which was referred
Resolution No. 329-23, reports as follows:
Resolution 329-23, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako via Communication No. 558
dated October 13, 2023, authorizes the Mayor to enter into annual flood -monitoring agreements
with the United States Geological Survey.
This resolution authorizes the Mayor to enter into five-year agreements to fund a Flood -
Monitoring Program to collect long-term data related to annual peak streamflow, which would be
used to map flood -prone areas for land use management and for the planning and design of flood
management systems.
Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Resolution No. 329-23, and recommends its adoption.
