Home My WebLink AboutRES 304 Draft 02 2022-2024RESOLUTION NO. 301 23 (DRAFT 2) RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT TO AWARD FUNDS TO THE HAWAI'I LOCAL2030 HUB WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawaii County Code (2016 Edition as amended) states, Grant awards in excess of $25,000 to nonprofit organizations shall specifically identify the organization receiving the grant funds and the purpose for which the grant funds shall be used in an ordinance or resolution; and WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-136(5) of the Hawaii County Code states, "nonprofit organization" means an organization organized for other than profit -making purposes and which has a current 501(c)3 tax -exemption from the Internal Revenue Code; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii Loca12030 Hub, which qualifies as a nonprofit organization as defined above, will provide community engagement and communication plans for the County of HawaiTs sustainability and climate action programs and the Aloha+ Challenge; and WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development wishes to provide $75,000 to the Hawaii Loca12030 Hub; now, therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAPI, in accordance with Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, the Department of Research and Development is authorized to provide a grant of $75,000 to the Hawaii Loca12030 Hub to provide services as indicated above. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Management, the Finance Department, and the Department of Research and Development.
