Re: Proposed Amendments to Resolution 345-23

On October 26, 2023, Resolution 345-23 was transmitted to Council to allow the County
to enter into a five-year multi -year lease agreement for one 60" deck rotary mower for the
Department of Parks and Recreation.
Please see below the proposed amendments to Resolution No. 345-23, correcting the
quantity of the equipment to be leased. The proposed amendments are shown in
Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Resolution No. 345-23, material to be
deleted is bracketed and stricken through, material to be added is underscored.
1. The title is amended to read as follows:
"RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER
FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-
YEAR LEASE FOR [ONE] FOUR (4) 60" DECK ROTARY MOWERS FOR
THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION"
2. The second WHEREAS clause is amended to read as follows:
"WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a multi -year lease for five
(5) years, for [one (1)] four (4) 60" deck rotary mowers; and"

The 60 inch Deck Rotary Mower will be used to maintain the fairways and the rough edges at the Hilo
Municipal Golf Course. The department currently has two (2) mowers that is utilized 7 days a week. This
high usage results in the mowers needing constant repairs with increasing costs.
The 60 inch Deck Rotary Mower will be leased for a period of five (5) years. The purchase price is estimated
at $77,000.00. The estimated monthly cost for the lease is $1,350,00,
Funding for the lease is included in the FY2023-24 Budget, This equipment will be leased financed such
that the County will own the equipment at then end of the five (5) year lease,
